Barrie | by Ken Hashizume

Barrrie beats Belleville 4-3 in overtime, Colts Lead OHL Eastern Final 3-1

The Barrie Colts continue to work their magic in overtime.

The Colts are now up 3-1 on the Belleville Bulls in their OHL Eastern Conference Final.

Brendan Lemieux scored his first OHL playoff goal 5:26 into the first overtime to give the Colts a 4-3 victory on Wednesday night at the Barrie Molson Centre.

Lemieux took a rebound and fired the puck through a screen and managed to get past Malcolm Subban and into the net.

But prior to that, Colts goaltender Mathias Niederberger made a huge save early into OT going post-to-post to keep the game alive.

Mark Scheifele, Aaron Ekblad, and Zach Hall scored in regulation for the Colts.

Hall finished the game with a goal and two assists.

Garret Hooey, Brendan Gaunce, and Alan Quine replied for the Bulls.

Barrie outshot Belleville 42-28.

The series shifts back to Belleville on Friday night for Game 5 of the best-of-seven set.
