Sauble Beach native Lane MacDermid scored his first NHL goal in his debut with Dallas.

MacDermid scored in a losing cause for the Stars as they lost 5-2 to Anaheim last night.

Earlier this week, MacDermid was acquired by the Stars from Boston as part of the package from the Bruins in exchange for Jaromir Jagr.

MacDermid started playing hockey for the Shallow Lake Minor Hockey Association and moved on to the Highlanders " AAA " program.

After a year with the Owen Sound Greys in Junior B Hockey, MacDermid joined the Owen Sound Attack of the Ontario Hockey League where he played for 2 & 1/2 years before being dealt to Windsor in 2008.

In his one season with the Spitfires, MacDermid was a member of the Memorial Cup Championship squad.
