Local Skiers Continue to Impress

Morgan Megarry of Collingwood finshed tied for fourth at Canadian Championships

At the Alpine Canadian Championships in Whistler, B.C.

Marie-Michèle Gagnon won her fourth straight national slalom crown by almost three seconds on Tuesday, following up her silver in downhill and gold in super-G with a dominant victory in the ladies’ slalom, earning her a ninth Canadian title in four different disciplines.

Owen Sound native Larisa Yurkiw -- who won a National downhill title to start the week and finished second in the Super G -- did not finish her first run.

Yurkiw will compete in the Ladies Slalom today

In the men's giant slalom Tuesday, Trevor Philp claimed the title.

Morgan Megarry, of Collingwood, finished tied for fourth with in a time of 2:21.45.
