Simcoe Grey MPP Signs Pledge

Collingwood | by Catherine Thompson

Jim Wilson and Conservatives try to stop new higher fees for trades people.

Simcoe Grey's MPP and the Progressive Conservatives have started a campaign to stop new higher fees for trades people.

Jim Wilson signed a pledge at Collingwood Toyota on Friday.

The Conservatives say the Liberal government is planning to force Ontario trades people to pay membership fees to fund the new regulatory body, the Ontario College of Trades.

Wilson says -- in a news release -- the trades tax as the PCs are calling it, will make practicing a trade more expensive, but the average consumer will also be affected as costs for hair cuts to car services will go up.
