Barrie | by Ken Hashizume

Niederberger makes 28 saves for Barrie in a 3-0 shutout of Mississauga.

It was home sweet home for the Barrie Colts.

The Colts blanked the visiting Mississauga Steelheads Saturday night in their first game at home in three weeks.

Mathias Niederberger didn't make many tough saves but he did stop 28 shots for his second shutout of the season in a 3-0 victory at the Barrie Colson Centre.

Zach Hall (1 goal, 1 assist), Mitchell Theoret (1 goal, 1 assist), and Mark Scheifele (2 assists) each had two points on the night.

Scheifele assists gives him 201 points as a Colt surpassing Denis Shvidki for seventh on the team's all-time scoring list.

Andreas Athanasiou got the other goal for Barrie (36-16-1-2).

Tyson Teichmann made 42 saves in a losing effort for the Steelheads (24-26-0-5).

Barrie went 1 for 4 on the power play while Mississauga did not get an opportunity with the man advantage.

The Colts head to Brampton Sunday afternoon to play the Battalion.
