Bruce Grey Owen Sound MP Larry Miller is blasting both environmentalists and opposition party supporters who claim the Omnibus Budget bill is bad for Canada.

Some opponents to Bill C-45 are upset by changes affecting rivers and Lakes while others says the bill changes a lot more than budget items.

Miller tells Bayshore Broadcasting News it's either politics by some, or outright lies by others.

Local Green, NDP and Liberal supporters have been speaking out against the 414 page budget bill.

They say it lumps together "multiple legislative changes to non-budget items".

In a news release, the Opposition party supporters say Bill C-45 deregulates a number of key environmental laws, including the Navigable Waters protection Act, and the Fisheries Act.

The Bruce Grey Owen Sound Conservative MP says they are playing politics and claims the Tories outlined a lot of the changes during the last Federal Election campaign.

While opponents say new regulations on the environment reduce the number of protected lakes and rivers dramatically, Miller says that's not true.

He says only 159 lakes or rivers are named because they are the only ones affected by the changes.
