Aces Split First Day at Tournament

Rama beat Bobcaygeon 6-5 in opener before losing 4-2 to Bradford.

You win one, you lose one.

The Jim Wilson Rama Aces split the first two games on the opening day of the GMHL Showcase Tournament.

D-J Tahbazian got a goal and an assist but the Aces fell 4-2 to the Bradford Rattlers in their second game of the tournament Tuesday night.

In the first game, Rama almost blew a 6-2 lead but hung on to beat Bobcaygeon 6-5 and finish the first day of the tournament at 1 and 1 in Pool A.

The Rattlers are also 1 and 1. They experienced their first loss of the year dropping a 3-2 decision to Bracebridge earlier in the day.

The Phantoms (1-0-1) and the Bucks (0-1-1) faced off in the second game for both teams and played to a 2-2 tie.

In Pool B, the GMHL Selects defeated the Temiscaming Titans 5-2 and the South Muskoka Shield got past the Toronto Attack 3-1.

The second and final day of the round robin Wednesday sees the Aces hook up with the Phantoms at 8 P-M.
