Hydro One says 160 litres leaked from transformer broken during storm

(Owen Sound) -

The City is calling it a relatively minor oil spill -- but oil from a hydro transformer has leaked into the Sydenham River in Owen Sound.

Hydro One says it happened after superstorm Sandy knocked out electricity on the east side of the City on Monday night.

About 160 litres from a broken transformer spilled into the River.

A company will be on site again today to clean up the spill.
