(Sarnia) -

Superstorm Sandy has claimed a victim in the Sarnia area.

The Ministry of Labour confirms a Bluewater Hydro employee was electrocuted while working on a downed power line in Brights Grove on Wednesday morning.

The identity of the worker is being withheld.

Premier McGuinty and Energy Minister Chris Bentley have expressed their condolences to the family of the hydro worker.

Bentley says the tragedy shows the dangers that hydro workers across Ontario face every day in maintaining the electricity system.

The Ministry of Labour has sent an industrial inspector and an electrical engineer to investigate the incident.

He's the second known death attributed to the storm -- a Toronto woman died Monday when she was struck by a falling store sign in that city.
