Four points separate first place to sixth place in the standings.
(Regional) -
The Goderich Sailors face the unenviable task of playing the leading club in the Western Junior C Hockey League on the road.
But Friday's game in Walkerton may have a silver lining.
The Sailors lost 4-1 to the Hawks at MRC in a tightly-contested game on October 20th.
Goderich trailed 2-1 for much of the contest until Walkerton scored two empty-net goals in the last two minutes of the game.
Sailors head coach Brad Burton says while his club gained some much-needed confidence from staying with the defending champion -- they'll have to be prepared for tonight.
Walkerton plays in an older arena with a slightly smaller ice-surface and the crowd noise is intensified by the close quarters in which the game will be played.
The Hawks sit atop a log-jam in the Western C standings with 15 points.
Wingham, Kincardine and Mitchell are tied for second-place just one point back.
The Sailors meanwhile remain in the cellar with one overtime loss in 12 games.
The Sailors and Hawks face off at Walkerton Arena tonight at 8:30 PM.
Also on Friday night, Wingham is hosting Kincardine at Wescast Centre at 7:30 PM.
