South Bruce OPP warned the public on Sunday to stay away from an area in Huron-Kinloss as they dealt with a man who barricaded himself inside a building.

Police tell us the man barricaded himself with a weapon in an outbuilding on a property in the village of Whitechurch

When officers responded to the scene around 9 AM on Sunday, they were confronted by the male brandishing a weapon.

At 4:31 PM, the male was apprehended, without incident, by members of the West Region OPP Tactical Rescue (TRU) unit.

Whitechurch Street is open again for vehicle traffic.

The investigation is continuing.
