A 3 year deal is reached for non-union town staff and firefighters.
(Hanover) -
Hanover has reached a three year contract agreement with both its non union employees as well as its fire fighters.
The non union contract includes a raise of 1.8 per cent in each of the first two years of the deal and 1.9 per cent in the final year.
Benefits for the most part remain the same with the exception of the elimination of employee semi-private hospital room coverage.
The firefighters contract includes a raise of 1.9 per cent this year, 2.25 per cent next year and 2.5 per cent in 2013.
Mayor Kathi Maskell calls the agreements both fair and responsible.
Maskell says Hanover is pleased with both employee groups, and they serve the town of Hanover well.
The non union agreement impacts 32 full time staff members and the fire fighter agreement impacts 20 firefighters.
Earlier this summer Hanover reached a three year agreement with its union employees.
This means Hanover has all of its employee contracts in place until the end of this term of Council.
