The defending WOAA Senior Hockey Champion Saugeen Shores Winterhawks play their season open tonight at Shallow Lake against the Crushers.

While this is the opening game for the Winterhawks, it will be the 4th game of the season for the Crushers.

Shallow Lake coach Randy Gibbons likes the make up of his club and while recognizing they will be the underdogs on a nightly basis, especially tonight, he believes he has a group of players that can meet the challenge.

Saugeen Shores coach Pete Roedger admits his club is very eager to get started this season.

Roedger knows as defending champions, the opponents will be geared up for their games against the Winterhawks.

However, he believes his club is highly motivated and ready to defend their title

Game time tonight at the Shallow Lake Arena is 7:30 PM.
