Western Junior C Hockey

Friday, October 12, 2012 3:41 PMby Peter Jackson
Three games in the Western Junior C Hockey League on Friday.

(Regional) -

The head coach of the Goderich Sailors believes his Western Junior C hockey club can make successful headway despite an 0-7-and-1 record through their first eight games.

They head into Wingham tonight after losing 5-4 to Lucan in a shootout in an Interlock Division game at MRC last Saturday.

Sailors head coach Brad Burton says they have the measure of the Ironmen after a 7-0 loss to Wingham on home-ice on September 22nd.

Burton maintains the score was not indicative of how the game was played.

The Sailors were playing a short bench and Burton was able to roll only three lines in that contest.

Wingham comes into tonight's game with a 3-and-3 record after dumping Mitchell 8-4 at home a week ago.

The Sailors and Ironmen face off at Wescast Centre at 7:30 PM on Friday.

Two other Western Junior C games tonight have Hanover hosting Mitchell at the P and H Centre at 8 PM, and Kincardine at Walkerton at 8:30 PM.
