Peterborough Petes Announce Management Change

The Peterborough Petes have fired General Manager Dave Reid.

In a team release, the Petes say the decision was not an easy one, stating the release of Reid was a business decision taking all factors into consideration.

In making the decision, the Petes Board of Directors cited a responsibility to season ticket subscribers, fans and sponsors and as a result, the action taken was necessary.

In the interim, hockey operation responsibilities will be split between Head Coach Mike Pelino and Director of Player Personnel Mike Oke.  Business operations will be overseen by Petes President Jim Devlin.

Reid, a former NHL'er and Stanley Cup winner, was released as General Manager 6 games into the third year of his 4-year contract with the club.

Tonight, Peterborough will host the Niagara IceDogs at the Memorial Centre in Peterborough

The Petes are "1 and 5" on the year.
