Police Deal With Suspected Drunk Drivers

Police in Barrie have been dealing with a number of drunk drivers.

Police in Barrie have been dealing with a number of drunk drivers.

Officers were called about a possible impaired driver around 7:30 PM on Saturday.

Police found the suspect vehicle on Carruthers Crescent and arrested the 48 year old driver for impaired driving. Officers also found a set of nunchucks and a large knife in the car. The driver was charged accordingly.

Just before midnight, police were called about a hit and run crash in the downtown area.

Officers found the suspect driver and a 30 year old Barrie woman has been charged with impaired driving, fail to remain and dangerous driving.

Early this morning, a vehicle was seen driving erratically through the downtown. A 32 year old man was arrested and taken back to the station where police say he blew over twice the legal limit. He's been charged.

Also this morning, police tried to stop a vehicle on  Fairview Road.  The car didn't stop until it was on the 400. The driver blew over twice the legal limit and the 56 year old was charged.
