(Tara) -

There's already been a serious crash this long holiday weekend in our region.

Grey County OPP are investigating a crash involving a horse and buggy and pick up truck near Tara.

The Grey Bruce Line between Grey Road 16 and Side Road 3 has been re-opened after police closed that stretch of road for several hours today.

Police say the accident happened around 7:30 AM this morning.

They say a GMC Sierra pick up was travelling north along the Grey Bruce Line when the driver attempted to pass a north bound horse and buggy.

While passing, the truck made contact with the buggy.

Police say four of the five occupants in the horse and buggy received minor injuries.

A male teen however, has been airlifted to Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto with life threatening injuries.

Both horses involved in the crash are injured as well, and a vet was called to the scene.

Neither occupant in the pick up truck were injured.

No further details have been released.

The investigation continues.
