Grey County Task Force begins review of services to make government efficient.
(Grey County) -
Three meetings will be held this week as the Grey County Governance Task Force works on a collaboration between municipalities.
The idea would be the County and municipalities would work together on some projects to reduce the cost of some services to taxpayers.
Grey County Warden Duncan McKinlay says for now, they are not asking for any public input.
The first meeting is Monday at 1:30 PM in the West Grey council chambers.
There are also meetings Tuesday at 2:30 PM in the Grey County council chambers in Owen Sound, and on Wednesday at 9 AM in Meaford Hall.
McKinlay says although those meetings are open to the public as observers, they are workshops for members of council and the task force.
The goal is to find some common ground that all or most municipalities can agree on as a way of making local government more efficient.
Several items are on the backburner for now -- including the length of term for a warden in Grey, and any talk of further amalgamation.
