Taxes Up as House Values Rise

Assessments in Wasaga Beach being mailed out today with average 3 per cent hike.

Wasaga Beach home owners can expect to get their property assessments as early as Friday or the beginning of next week.

Assessments are being mailed out today.

Residential values in Wasaga Beach have increased since 2008 on average 10.6 per cent.

Phased in over the next four years, that's approximately 2.6 per cent per year.

Waterfront properties have gone up an average of 9 per cent.

In Collingwood, homeowners should already have received their notices.

Property values in Collingwood went up 7 per cent on average.
