A late night fire has destroyed Caroline's restaurant, a store and an apartment in the back of the building at Hoppy's One Stop in Tobermory.
Flames broke out just before 9 PM on Monday and by the time firefighters arrived -- the fire was coming thru the roof.
Strong winds actually helped the efforts of firefighters trying to stop the blaze from spreading.
Deputy Fire Chief Wilf Barnes says the wind was coming almost directly out of the west -- which helped the firefighters keep the fire from spreading to the nearby garage and gas pumps, as well as two 450 litre propane tanks on the property.
No one was injured in the blaze.
Barnes says the damage amount will be over 400 thousand dollars, since the building was about 16 hundred square feet and was completely destroyed.
The Ontario Fire Marshall's office has been called in to help determine a cause.
The Lion's Head fire department assisted in fighting the fire in Tobermory -- and a Wiarton truck was dispatched to Lion's Head to cover the community in case of a fire on Monday night.
