(Walkerton) -

Walkerton's second annual Run4Health is taking place this morning.

Spokesperson Christine Brandt says there is a 10-K and 5-K run as well as the family one kilometre walk or run.

Registration begins at 8 AM with the races starting at 9 AM.

Brandt says all the money raised today will go towards the purchase of a new fluroscopy xray machine for the Walkerton Hospital.

It costs 810 thousand dollars -- and it's suppose to reduce radiation.

There will also be live music, prizes, awards and a Kidz Zone.

Brandt says the goal is to have fun, get some exercise and support the Walkerton Hospital Foundation.

And for those serious runners, this is a chip-timed event accredited by the Ontario Roadrunner Association.

This means the chip-timed results could qualify some of today's runners for larger marathons.

The races begin and end at the Walkerton Agricultural Building.

About 400 people are expected to participate.
