There are a lot of resources assembled to help give today's kids a jump-start on life's opportunities.

Avon-Maitland District School Board Curriculum Superintendent Kim Black says her organization is proud to be among them through its participation in the Kids First Initiative.

Black says the plan is to support kids from infancy to Grade 6.

She says there are sixty different area organizations that participate to draw services together under Kids First.

Black says Kids First has survived the steering committee stage, and is now ready to promote its resources to the community.

A colourful pamphlet is now available to raise public awareness.

Black says most young parents are aware of the AMDSB's KATYO program -- Calling All Three Year-olds -- which runs in November.

The superintendent says that's just one of the ways the AMDSB works to acclimatize kids.
