Goderich | by Bayshore News Staff

Brock Dykxhoorn told to be available for Gold Medal 18U game against U-S

For Dave Dykxhoorn, his son Brock bringing gold to Goderich is as good as it gets.

Brock is in Seoul, Korea this week pitching for team Canada at the World Junior Baseball Championships.

Brock's father Dave Dykxhoorn tells Bayshore Broadcasting News that his son has received tweets from a lot of major league baseball players.

Since the champioship games are in Korea (who is 13 hours ahead of us), Dave has been waking up early to follow the games online.

Dave tells Bayshore Broadcasting News that Brock is told to expect some action for the gold medal game.

Once Brock is done in Seoul, Korea, he will rush to begin classes at West Virginia where he is already 3 weeks late.

Dave will be meeting Brock when he flies into Pittsburg just before 1AM for some celebrations before he takes Brock to school.

Although the team lost to South Korea this morning, their outstanding record has set up a gold medal face-off against USA.

The gold medal face-off with the U-S will be Saturday at 5AM local time.
