Walkerton Clean Water Centre is hosting more than 100 drinking water operators
The Walkerton Clean Water Centre is playing host to more than 100 drinking water operators from across Ontario.
The second annual Maintenancefest began Tuesday and continues on Wednesday.
CEO Larry Moore says the two day event offers hands-on training for operators from large and small drinking water systems.
Moore says they especially target small system operators because it's not easy for them to get training.
The Clean Water Centre first opened in 2004 -- following the E.coli water tragedy in Walkerton back in 2000 that claimed seven lives and sickened 25 hundred people.
Moore tells Bayshore Broadcasting News the Centre has expanded its research and technology work.
He notes they research small water system solutions and assess new water technologies.
Moore adds they have strong relationships with water technology companies, Colleges and Universities as well as municipalities and the provincial government.
