Fire Bans Lifted

Regional | by Bayshore News Staff

This week's rainfall has led to fire bans being lifted in several communities.

If you enjoy having campfires --- there is some good news thanks to the rain.

Georgian Bluffs, Kincardine, South Bruce Peninsula, Collingwood and Wasaga Beach have lifted their fire bans.

It's a little different in West Grey, Chatsworth and Grey Highlands -- where a campfire is allowed -- but only in a pit or tire rim that isn't larger than 24 inches.

Brockton will allow small contained fires at campgrounds and trailer parks at night -- from 7 PM until 11 PM.

Large fires are still under a ban and fire permits are still suspended.

Clearview Township has not yet lifted its fire ban, though, and there's been no word yet from Springwater Township on its ban.
