We first told you last week about Owen Sound finalizing its agreement for dispatch services for Hanover Police.
Now Owen Sound Police will handle dispatch services for the Brockton fire department.
Brockton has been seeking a new dispatch provider since Hanover's service will end at the end of this year.
Brockton considered three agencies -- the dispatch services in Barrie, Tillsonburg and Owen Sound.
Walkerton Fire Chief Michael Murphy says Owen Sound was the logical choice since it's closer.
Murphy is confident Owen Sound will be able to provide the same service they have enjoyed with Hanover.
But the switch to Owen Sound -- which will begin in the fall -- will come at a price.
There will be a one time 10 thousand dollar equipment cost in order to make the initial connection to Owen Sound for both the Walkerton and Elmwood Fire Departments.
The annual per capita costs for the Walkerton Station will also increase by about 52 hundred dollars a year.
In the case of the Elmwood Fire Department -- that cost will actually decrease by about 350 dollars in the first year with an annual increase of 2.5 per cent.
Chief Murphy notes that residents will not notice a difference in their services.
