Weather Helps Sauble Businesses

Sauble Beach | by Ashton Patis

Some merchants at Sauble Beach say it's the best start to season in 30 years.

Business is booming this spring and summer season at Sauble Beach.

Many shop owners tell Bayshore Broadcasting News it's been the best start to the tourism season in 30 years.

Mike Graham -- the Manager of the Cabana Beach House -- says the weather is crucial in relation to the amount of people on the Main Street.

Graham notes they opened early this year due to the warm weather in March, and were even open for Easter Weekend.

Jessie Maskis -- a Sales Clerk at Longboard Woody's -- says during the week a lot of shoppers are locals from Owen Sound and Kincardine -- then tourists flock downtown on the weekends.

Often shops open in May and don't close up until Thanksgiving.

Many businesses have been open on weekends since April.

The July-like weather on the May 2-4 long weekend had the shops packed, and businesses are hoping for the same all season long.
