Hanover will be a sea of black leather and motorcycles today as the town plays host to the annual Spring Biker Poker Run.
Organizer Anita Maahs is expecting anywhere from 200 to 225 bikers to participate.
She says the 250 kilometre poker run draws bikers from all across southern Ontario.
All proceeds from the event will be shared between the Hanover Big Brothers and Sisters organization and the South Bruce Grey Youth Literacy Council.
The poker run begins and ends at the Queen's Push Pub in Hanover -- but it will take the bikers on less travelled roads across Bruce and Grey Counties.
At the end of the ride, there will be a party Saturday night with a large outdoor tent and live musical entertainment -- and the public is invited to attend.
Maahs says depending on the weather this event usually raises anywhere from four to nine thousand dollars.
There is also an auction, a 50-50 draw and some bikers have also collected pledges for the event.
Maahs says bikers make great fundraisers because they love to ride and they are always eager to support a worthy cause.
