The Alliston Hornets are moving on in the Schmalz Cup Junior C playoffs.
Randy Cox scored the winner to cap a 4-goal comeback in the third as Alliston edge the Walkerton Hawks 5-4 to take the best-of-seven quarterfinal series in 5 games.
Walkerton opened the scoring 20 seconds into the game on the first of two goals by Shane McDonald.
Andy Mitchell and Ryan Stroz added goals to give the Hawks a 4-1 lead after two periods.
Alliston were not able to muster much offence in the first 40 minutes thanks to great defense and goaltending by Walkerton.
But two goals by Mike Campeau and Cole Parker 1 minute, 16 seconds apart in the third ignited the Hornets' comeback.
Mark O'Donnell tied the game up at 4 before Cox scored the go-ahead goal with less than 4 minutes left in the regulation.
Dave LeBlanc had the other goal for Alliston who outshot Walkerton 29-27.
Campeau had 3 points in the game (goal and 2 assists), Drew Davidson and Haden Campbell each had 2 assists for Walkerton.
The Hawks went 2 for 4 on the power play while the Hornets went 1 for 4.
The Georgian Mid-Ontario champions await the winner of the Campbellford-Clarington series.
