Bluewater Boys Hockey Semifinals

Both of the Bluewater Boys Hockey Semifinal playoff games scheduled for today have been cancelled due to poor weather conditions.

Both of those semifinal games will now be played on Tuesday afternoon.

The OSCVI Falcons will host the Sacred Heart Crusaders Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 at the Coliseum in Owen Sound

Meanwhile, Tuesday at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine, the Knights will host the St Mary's Mustangs at 2 pm

Yesterday, Sacred Heart eliminated the John Diefenbaker Trojans with a 6-3 win while St Mary's advanced to the semifinals with a 5-3 win over the Georgian Bay Vikings.


CWOSSA Girls Volleyball

The CWOSSA Girls " A " and " AA " Volleyball qualifiers scheduled for today have been cancelled and will be rescheduled.

Friday, the Owen Sound Attack are at Plymouth to face the Whalers in the opener of a 3 game road swing against West Division teams

Game 1 of a best of 7 series

Game time is 8:30 pm at the Stayner Memorial Arena


The Western Junior C Semifinals resume tomorrow night at Wingham and at Hanover.

The Walkerton Hawks beat Wingham 5-4 in overtime last night in the opener of their semifinal at Walkerton

The Hanover Barons trail the Mitchell Hawks 1 game to none after losing 6-1 in game of the series Tuesday night at Mitchell



CWOSSA Alpine Ski Championship

at the Beaver Valley Ski Club

The Georgian Bay Vikings won 2 team events and an individual race and will send almost a dozen skiers to the OFSAA Championship

The Georgian Bay Level 1 Boys Team, and the Level 2 Girls Team won their divisions

Plus Eric Hibbard & Max Veer of the Vikings both finished first in their divisional races

The OFSAA Alpine Ski Championship is February 26th-28th at Blue Mountain Ski Resort.

The top performances by Georgian Bay skiers at the CWOSSA meet is posted today under " Latest Sports Stories "



Swim Meet

The Eastern Canadian Swim Championship begins today in Gatineau, Quebec

Chris Hatcher & Andrew Beaton of the Owen Sound Aquatic Club are scheduled to compete.
