Marie Marchand-Arvier of France had the fastest time in the first training run for a women's World Cup downhill on Thursday
The training was delayed by an hour to clear fresh overnight snow in freezing weather.
Owen Sound skier Larisa Yurkiw finished 43rd.
Yurkiw relates she skied well tactically, but her aggression and intensity will be upgraded for the weekend race.
The Wiorld Cup downhill is slated for Saturday, before a super-G race on Sunday.
Following these races, Yurkiw is scheduled to return to Canada
