Yet another municipality is interested in hosting a deep geologic repository for nuclear waste.
Huron Kinloss council has decided to investigate the plan.
Mayor Mitch Twolan says the first step will be a tour of the Bruce Nuclear site to get familiar with the facility and the proposal for a used nuclear fuel site in the area.
The project could take 10 years to construct and cost 16 to 20 billion dollars.
Twolan says the economic spinoffs would be huge and council wanted to get as much information as possible, before deciding whether the municipality wants to host the development.
Brockton, and South Bruce are also moving forward in the process.
Mayor Twolan says all three are seeking information first, and then determining whether their areas would be suitable for the project.
