With a return of winter driving conditions OPP are again reminding us to slow down and exercise some common sense behind the wheel.
The most obvious tip is to start out early and take your time.
Police remind us that blowing snow seriously cuts visibility and that hard-packed snow and ice on the roads reduce traction.
They say while vehicles equipped with electronic traction control tend to be safer in the winter their advice is to slow down in adverse road and weather conditions.
The best thing you can do is to get snow tires installed.
And OPP encourage you to check road conditions before you start out by listening to Bayshore Broadcasting News or checking the MTO and County Road websites.
