Five members of the Owen Sound Attack have made the mid term list of the NHL"s central Scouting Bureau rankings

Among North American Skaters, Gemel ( Jemm-mel ) Smith is rated 20th, one spot ahead of teammate Jarrod Maidens.

Artur Gavrus who is due back in Owen Sound later this month is rated 56th.

Moving onto the list at #88 is defender Jake Dotchin ( Dot-chin ) along with forward Joseph Blandisi ( Bland-easy ) who is listed at # 195

Hishon Claimed By Knights

Following the Ontario Hockey League Trade Deadline, the London Knights claimed former Attack star Joey Hishon on waivers, angering Attack General Manager Dale DeGray.

Hishon was a key member of the Attack for 4 years but was injured in the opening game of the Memorial Cup Round Robin and has not played hockey since.

Monday, as per Ontario Hockey League regulations, the Attack had to cut their number of overage players ( players born in 1991 ) down to 3 and as a result they left Hishon off their list and available for waiver selection.

The Knights, who did not have a full contingent of 3 overage players put in a waiver claim on Hishon.

Attack General Manager Dale DeGray was advised yesterday afternoon by text message that Hishon had been selected off waivers and while the text did not identify the team that made the claim, DeGray stated he knew immediately which club ( London ) did it.

DeGray stresses that London did nothing underhanded in this case, but he feels a breach of protocol did occur.

Hishon will not play for London this year as he's still recovering from a concussion suffered last Spring.
