Peer To Coach Junior NorthStars

Owen Sound | by Bayshore News Staff

Interview with NorthStars GM Rob Daigneau

The Owen Sound Junior B NorthStars have named Keith Peer as their new head coach

Peer, a graduate of Owen Sound Minor Lacrosse, played goal for the Junior B Dutchmen in the 90's and was on the Canadian Champion Dutchmen squad in 1993.

Peer also played goal for the Senior NorthStars in the 90's and the Senior Woodsmen early this century.

Another prominent Owen Sound lacrosse name, Jamie Grimoldby will be one of Peer's assistant coaches.

Grimoldby was also a member of the 1993 Founders Cup Champion and was a top scorer throughout his playing days in Junior and Senior lacrosse.

NorthStars General Manager Rob Daigneau admits there will be other coaches added to the staff, but for now, the primary vacancies have been filled

Daigneau relates there were 3 applications to coach the 2012 squad and he's enthused about the support and direction the club is heading.

Peer has experience coaching Midget Lacrosse in the Owen Sound Minor system and Daigneau feels that will be a major asset going forward

Now that the coaching picture has been clarified, Daigneau states the next order of business for the Junior B NorthStars will be to get practicing early in order to get off to a fast start on the season.
