Speed Trap Catches Teen

16 year old loses licence and mother's car after being charged with speeding in Barrie.

A 16 year old girl in Barrie has some explaining to do after her mother's car was impounded in a traffic sweep in the city's south end.

Police had been asked to do speed traps along Ferndale Drive by people in the area worried about speeders.

One of the people caught was the 16 year old, clocked at 107 kilometres an hour in a 50 zone.

The driver is charged with stunt driving, the car impounded for seven days.
