Ottawa Senators fans are determined to see their favourite players at the all-star game. Defenceman Erik Karlsson leads all N-H-L players in all-star voting ahead of teammate Daniel Alfredsson. Voting wraps up January 4th ahead of the January 29th game at Ottawa's Scotiabank Place.

The Collingwood McQueen Vue Paving Atom ‘A’ Blackhawks hosted an exhibition game against the East Gwillimbury Eagles on Monday night at the Eddie Bush Arena in Collingwood, and ended up with a 7 - 1 victory. The Eagles are the number one ranked team in the York Simcoe "A" loop.

In baseball news, The New York Mets have signed former Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Adam Loewen to a minor league contract. Toronto released Loewen off their 40-man roster three weeks ago.

Ryan Braun is the National League's most valuable player. The Milwaukee Brewers left-fielder & 4-time all-star had 33 homers, 111 R-B-Is and 33 stolen bases.

Baseball will go on another five years untouched by work stoppage. The owners and players reached a new labour deal that will leave the sport strike-free for 21 consecutive years.
