Attack Shorthanded For Weekend

Owen Sound | by Fred Wallace

No Plans For Transactions

The Owen Sound Attack will head North this weekend for a two game sequence of games against Ontario Hockey League rivals.

The Attack who are third in the Midwest Division will be at Sudbury on Friday night and Sault Ste Marie on Saturday night.

It's expected the Attack roster will be somewhat shorter than normal for the trip.

Forward Artur Gavrus will definitely miss the weekend after suffering a nasty blow from Max Domi during a game Saturday against the London Knights

Rookie forward Devon Rymarchuk is also unlikely to make the trip as he recovers from a lower body injury.

A third forward, Cameron Brace, is dealing with an upper body injury, but General Manager Dale DeGray expects him to make the trip this weekend.

DeGray relates the Attack will not make a transaction nor call up a player from their affiliate teams to compensate for the manpower shortage.

Instead, DeGray insists the Attack will compete with what remains of the existing roster, and this will create an excellent opportunity for a number of players to see additional ice time.
