The 21st Annual Owen Sound and District Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards were handed out Thursday night.
The theme of the night was "Viva Las Vegas."
When the games and entertainment paused, a number of surprised winners took to the stage at the Bayshore.
Among them was Bob Wraight, theVice President of Operations for Maclean Engineering -- who took home the Business of the Year award for a company with 25 plus employees.
Although they are based in Collingwood, Maclean Engineering have expanded into Owen Sound in the past three years.
They manufacture municipal vehicles and underground mining equipment.
Tonya Miller of Hair Body and Soul took home the Business of the Year Award for a business with 25 or less employees.
Tony Zulklsky of Heritage Place Shopping Centre was thrilled to win the Environmental Stewardship Award -- noting they've made numerous changes over the past 12 months like waterless urinals.
The New Business of the Year Award went to Jen Croft of Creative Choices.
Croft is a chef who prepares special dietary meals, particularly gluten free.
Owner of Green Taxi Brandon Ramsay won the Young Entrepreneur Award.
Healthyworks won the Service Excellence Award, the Skills Trades Award was taken home by A Golden Repair.
Mister Transmission received the Community Service Award, the Highland Manor Inn Grand Victorian B&B won the Hospitality Award and Easton Wildlife won the Small Business Award,.
