Tourism Conference Today

Port Elgin | by Daryl Morris

Grey Bruce Regional Tourism Board hosts meeting, theme is 'Sense the WOW.'

The Grey Bruce Regional Tourism Board is hosting it's 12th annual conference today at the CAW Family Education Centre in Port Elgin.

This year's theme is "Sense the WOW."

Two keynote speakers will expand on the theme, focusing on topics like Sense of Place and Consumer Experience to provide the "wow" factor with your business.

Valeri LeBlanc from Places Consulting and Theresa Syers from Syers Hospitality Group are the speakers.

LeBlanc is familiar with the Regional Tourism Board, as she has recently completed a study for the board, highlighting the region's strengths and seasonal enhancements.

The conference will also feature two Grey-Bruce businesses that have demonstrated success over the years.

One is a boat tour operator, and the other a successful bed and breakfast that was given an award from TripAdvisor.com.

The winner of the Charlie Kelly award will also be announced.

The conference runs from 8:30 AM until 4 PM.
