Efforts continue to re-open North Harbour Road to traffic in the wake of its closure by the August 21st tornado.
As Town Council is learning, it's not as simple as passing a motion.
Town CAO Larry McCabe says he has been advised by Sifto Salt that they are unable to comply with the Town demand.
The firm cites safety concerns with the clean-up, which is underway.
Problems with congestion caused by the closure were outlined in an email received from Vonnie Haner, a business owner in the vicinity.
While North Harbour Road is blocked with barricades, Grain Elevator traffic as well as worker vehicles and recreational usage demands form a bottlekneck restricting customer access.
The Ministry of Labour has become involved.
McCabe says the additional demands the Ministry may make could further slow the process of re-opening the road to traffic.
