The Lancers only game of the weekend was in Port Elgin on Friday evening to face the defending Champions. The only scoring in the first period was off the stick Ryan Fry for the Winterhawks with the assist going to Matt Turcotte. Shots on the goal were 11 -10 in favour of Saugeen Shores. The Winterhawks opened up a 3 - 0 lead by 11:31 of the second with the goals coming off the sticks of Shawn Walker and Ryan Dudgeon. Tyler DeVos closed the gap with a power-play goal at 16:13 of the second period with Ean Moffat picking up the lone assist. Saugeen Shores outshot the Lancers 12 -10 in the second period. The Winterhawks fourth goal of the game came only 17 seconds into the third period. Brad Burton closed the gap to 4 -2 at 16:19 of the period on an unassisted effort. Lucknow had a three minute power-play near the end of the game but couldn't close the gap and Saugeen Shores came away with the 4 - 2 victory. Shots in the third were 11-a-piece, final shots were 34 - 32. Andrew Smith picked up the win for Saugeen Shores while Ben Dorscht took the loss for the Lancers. Lucknow was 1 for the 3 on the power-play, while Saugeen Shores were 0 for 3 on the [power-play.
The Lancers travel to Durham on Friday evening and the come home to face ShallowLake on Saturday night, game time is 8:00.
