The structures behind Economic Development in Huron County are evolving.
In a presentation to Huron County's Committee of the Whole -- Senior Economic Development Officer Mike Pullen informed councillors that things were moving along to make plans noted in the Huron Economic Blueprint a reality.
The Warden's Economic Development Task Force will morph into the "Huron Economic Development Advisory Board."
While this will mean a more hands-on approach, the group remains an advisory board, with final economic development decisions remaining in the hands of County Council.
The new body will be known as the Huron Economic Development Advisory Board.
It will begin functioning December 7th at the Inaugural Session of the 2011-12 Huron Council.
The Advisory Board members will be the Warden, three County Councillors, one representative from each of agriculture, manufacturing, tourism, culture/creative and retail sectors and two reps from the Huron Business Development Corporation.
Members approved the changes, making the new structure permanent effective as at the December meeting.
