Another community in Bruce County has stepped up to the plate to help out those in tornado-torn Goderich.

Saugeen Shores council has agreed to send a one thousand dollar donation to the Disaster Relief Fund.

The money is in addition to the in-kind donation of 25 hundred dollars when they provided personnel and equipment from the public works department to assist in tree removal in Goderich.

Arran Elderslie recently supported a donation of one thousand dollars as well while other Bruce County municipalities are assessing their level of support to be provided.

Goderich Council has also acknowledged donations from the Township of Melancthon, the Town of LaSalle, the Township of Hamilton, the Township of Warwick and the Town of Caledon.

Amounts range from 100 dollars to five thousand dollars.

Some of the money, authorized by resolution of each municipality, goes to the Goderich and Area Disaster Relief Fund -- other donations were made directly to the Town.

Total of municipal donations acknowledged at the meeting on October 11th was 33 thousand dollars.

Mayor Deb Shewfelt says donation of 10 thousand dollars is also coming from AMO -- the Association of Municipalities of Ontario, and that other municipal donations are in the pipe.
