BMO Donates in Goderich

Goderich | by Rick Stow

Bank of Montreal gives another 20 thousand dollars to Goderich Tornado Relief.

Beautiful sunshine, great music -- and the money keeps rolling in.

The Bank of Montreal has chosen the Out of the Storm Concert to make its second 20 thousand dollar donation to the Goderich and Area Disaster Relief Fund.

Janet Peddigrew -- the Vice President of BMO's Midwestern Ontario District -- presented Goderich and Area Disaster Relief Fund chair Duncan Jewell with the money, donated by the Bank's employees Canada wide.

The donation matches an earlier corporate contribution from the Bank.

Peddigrew says BMO Bank of Montreal has been serving Goderich since the early beginnings of both the community, and the Bank.

She tells us the branch interior was completely destroyed in the August 21st tornado and it could be another three months before service is restored at the downtown location.

In the interim the branch has been serving customers from its temporary location at the Suncoast Mall parking lot.

Goderich and Area Disaster Relief Fund chair Duncan Jewell is gratified by the donation -- and thinks the Out of the Storm event has landed perfect weather for its fund-raising concert.
