Fundraising for Goderich

Goderich | by Dianne Colgan

Fundraising efforts are going well for the Goderich and Area Disaster Relief Fund.

Fundraising efforts are going well for the Goderich and Area Disaster Relief Fund.

Co-Chair of the fundraising Committee Matt Hoy says events are happening all over the province with proceeds going to the fund.

Hoy says the amount of support from all over Ontario has been overwhelming and is greatly appreciated as the money keeps rolling in.

He says local events have been a big hit as well around Huron County and in Bruce and Perth as well.

Out of the Storm -- the official benefit concert for tornado relief -- is gearing up for October 8th, boasting Matthew Good and the Arkells as headliners, along with Serena Ryder, Downchild Blues Band and many more.

Hoy says their first goal is to make money for the relief fund, but they also want to give people a reason to celebrate.

He says the community of Goderich has been through a lot and Out of the Storm and other fundraisers are an opportunity for residents to celebrate.
