Wasaga Mourns Brain Tumour Victim

Wasaga Beach | by Mariane McLeod

40 year old Jim Anderson

Funeral services will be held this weekend for a Wasaga Beach man who fought a three-year battle with a brain tumour.

Jim Anderson's tumour was found while he and fellow members of the Rotary Club were presenting a cheque to the hospital in Barrie. He suffered a seizure at the ceremony, and was diagnosed a few days later.

Over the last few years, Simcoe.com reports the 40 year old received treatment, but also tried to make the most of every day, with trips with his family to New York and Jamaica. He was surrounded by family when he died on Friday night. Anderson leaves a wife, a 14 year old daughter and a three year old son.

The funeral is Saturday afternoon at the Lighthouse Community Church on Sunnidale Road.
