The Town of Goderich held a public meeting September 24th at GDCI to deal with refurbishing public spaces damaged by the August tornado.
120 community members took part.
Students from the University of Guelph who are studying planning were in attendance, and will also be assisting the rebuild as part of their studies.
Town Planner Denise Van Amersfoort says the public's ideas will help define the role a consultant will play in the process.
Van Amersfoort reported on the meeting to Goderich Council on Monday night.
Members opted to fast-track the process of finding a consultant for the job.
A condensed time-line of four weeks was suggested to determine what is required, put out a request-for-proposals and return to Council with a recommendation for hiring the appropriate individual.
