Provincial assistance is not only promised -- it's in the bank.
On August 22nd, Premier McGuinty pledged an initial five million dollars of ODRAP funding to assist in the Goderich recovery of ther F3 tornado that hit on August 21st.
Behind the scenes -- the municipality and province have been working hand-in-hand to see that the municipal portion of the Ontario Disaster Relief Assistance Program dollars get here quickly.
The two levels of government have signed an agreement, and Queen's Park has forked over one million dollars to help with the early clean-up costs.
A letter from Rick Bartolucci, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing states that a total of 2.5 million dollars is forthcoming as the Town's share of ODRAP funding.
