Hawks Dominate Sailors

Walkerton beats Goderich again, Hanover and Mitchell are also victorious.


The Walkerton Hawks and Goderich Sailors are teams headed in opposite directions early in the Western Junior C Hockey League season.

The Hawks handed Goderich an 8-2 loss at the Maitland Rec Centre -- a week after beating the Sailors 10-4 in Walkerton.

A 2-1 deficit through the opening 20 minutes was as close as Goderich would get.

Eric Lekun led Walkerton with three goals and two assists while Drew Davidson registered two goals and two assists.

Adam Alexander also scored twice and Andrew Graham rounded out the scoring.

Tyler Million and Thomas Bedour responded for the Sailors who were outshot 36-26.

The Sailors host Hanover at the MRC tonight at 8 PM while Walkerton visits Mount Forest at 8:30 PM.

In Friday night's other Western Junior C play -- Mitchell defeated Kincardine 2-1 in a shootout and Hanover downed Wingham 5-2.
